Original description

Fragment of vitrification from Dun an Rubha Buidhe, Kildalton & Oa, Islay, Argyll. X.2014.390.3 = X.HH 1000 Fragment of vitrification from Dun an Rubha Buidhe, Kildalton & Oa, Islay, Argyll (see RCAHMS no NR45SE 6; NGR NR 4661 5407). The fragment is labelled with masking tape sufficiently clearly to allow identification of the site name. This was formerly in a box of miscellaneous unregistered fragments of vitrification from various sites on Islay which were recorded and allocated registration nos during Leith Cruiser Store decant December 2014. It may eventually be possible to associate further samples with specific sites on geological grounds but currently only those with any identifying features have been allocated individual catalogue numbers.
