(Marginal) A stone cup of steatite, decorated with an incised herring-bone pattern round the lip, measuring 4 1/8ins in diameter x 3 ins high, and having a handle at one side of the lip, was found in 1820 in a cairn at Knockwhern [Knockquharn], Echt. It was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) by the Hon Lady Binning through James F Richardson. (Acc. No. AQ 52.)
