Archaeology Notes
NJ16SE 8 1858 6306.
An EBA flat-axe mould of sandstone, in Elgin Museum (Acc. No. 1945.2) 'was found at the site of the Danish Camp on Cuttie's Hillock near Elgin.'
No information on the name 'Cuttie's Hillock' was found, but the henge (NJ16SE 4) in Quarry Wood is known locally as the Danish Camp, and this can probably be equated with the Hillock.
S Benton 1952; H W M Hodges 1959; D Britton 1963; Visited by OS (W D J) 10 December 1962.
