HU45SW 7 404 508.
Two miniature polished stone axes (Accession no. ARC 65580) a stone ball (Accession no. ARC 65590) and steatite beads (Accession no. 65585) were donated by Rev. M.C.S. Johnston, in 1965.
Acc Reg Shetland Museum.
Rev. M.C.S. Johnston (Rev M C S Johnston, Wesley Manse, Sandwick), stated that all these items were given to him years ago by the late Mr. W. Hunter of Stromfirth, who found them somewhere on his croft. He also had in his possession a polished stone axe which he found embedded in clay in the bank of the stream that ran past his croft. The crofthouse at HU 4047 5086 is now deserted.
