Original description
Material recovered from the sand dunes at Ardnave, Islay from the vicinity of the excavations carried out in 1979 - 1980. 'Rubbing stone'; prepared by coarse flaking of edges of 'upper' surface; one smoothed slightly convex working surface. Dimensions: 220 mm L x 190 mm B x 65 mm Th. Presumed to have been found in the sand dunes; but no other details of context available. Ritchie, J N G, and Welfare, H G; PSAS, 113 (1983), pp 302 - 366; not referred to in report.
