Original description
The finds from excavations at Ardnave, Islay carried out in 1979 - 80 under the direction of Dr J N G Ritchie and Mr H G Welfare. Coarse stone tools. Limpet hammers. Fine grain; elongated with rounded ends and flattened cross section; 103.4 g; 107:40:16. damage: narrower end blunted with small flakes removed across its width on either face, average flake 05:04; broader end very slightly pecked. On natural sand, at base of primary occupation layers, Period 1. Ritchie, J N G, and Welfare, H G; PSAS, 113 (1983), pp 302 - 366, fig 16.
