Original description

The finds from excavations at Ardnave, Islay carried out in 1979 - 80 under the direction of Dr J N G Ritchie and Mr H G Welfare. Coarse stone tools. Stone pounders. Medium grain; elongated oval; flattened cross section; broken; left side removed; cracked; slightly stained; 544.5 g; 101:74:52. Damage: broad end faceted with a pecked area on either face and a blunt ridge across the centre, facets 22:43 and 15:48; on the narrower end two small distinct pecked areas, one on either face, 20:15 and 14:13.
