Original description

The finds from excavations at Ardnave, Islay carried out in 1979 - 80 under the direction of Dr J N G Ritchie and Mr H G Welfare. Pottery. Two decorated sherds, apparently not from any of the pots listed above [HRB 1 - 25]; the larger broken along building rings, heavily gritted but fairly hard fabric buff slipped surfaces outside; the smaller similar but worn. Bank material of Period 2 - derived from Period 1. Ritchie, J N G, and Welfare, H G; PSAS, 113 (1983), pp 302 - 366, figs 8 - 10.
