Original description

The finds from excavations at Ardnave, Islay carried out in 1979 - 80 under the direction of Dr J N G Ritchie and Mr H G Welfare. Pottery. Rimsherd and wall sherd probably from the same pot, the rim everted above a rounded shoulder, the wall sherd having two cordons (one perhaps being the shoulder seen on the rimsherd). Decoration by wide roughly incised lines; on one sherd, horizontal lines below rim and below the shoulder; on the other sherd, horizontal and slanting lines. Heavily gritted grey fabric, buff outside, much weathered. Unstratified. Ritchie, J N G, and Welfare, H G; PSAS, 113 (1983), pp 302 - 366, figs 8 - 10.
