VIKING PERIOD. Iron axe-head of Viking type. Eigg. KJD notes, Registration date reads '1878, 1882'. MOSAICS note, April 1997: This axe-head was found in a Viking burial mound near Kildonan Chapel on Eigg. 9th - 12th century.
