SCULPTURED STONES, CROSSES, ETC. Remains of shaft of cross, 3' 7 1/2" x 13 x 3 3/8", in front is the figure of a knight, above is an inscription and on the back is a galley and a hunting scene. Islay. Anon notes, 'Texa' added. Caption note, March 1993: Cross-shaft from the island of Texa (off Islay), inscribed HEC EST CRUX REGNALDI JOHIS DE ISLA. / This is the Cross of Ranald (the son of) John of Islay.
