Original description

PERFORATED STONE AXES, HAMMERS, &C. Axe-Hammer of porphyritic stone 4 1/2 long, 2 1/4" in greatest breadth, 1 15/16" in thickness, the perforation straight-sided and 15/16" in diameter. Found in a short cist at Burnside Mill, Forfar, by Wm Watt, 1913. Treasure Trove reward L3. JAS notes: (6/1/88) Material identified as porphyritic micrograndorite by CBA Implement Petrology Committee (AGS 16). HMcC note, 1998-99: Updated from SCRAN full data set.
