Hunterian Museum Object 120706: GLAHM:B.1914.1018/1 - ARTEFACT, Orkney
Description
- Description
- unknown object; This object is of unknown use (possibly a socket or pivot stone) and is broken into two parts. The Hunterian's Curator of Geology made the observation that this stone was presumably selected for its attractive appearance as it is a very brittle type of stone which was almost certain to break when being worked. Note: Another object shares this accession number (see B.1914.1018/2) but does not seem related in any way.
