Hunterian Museum Object 118454: GLAHM:B.1914.210 - AXE, probably Shetland
Description
- Description
- Neolithic polished stone axe head. This object belongs with a group that all have similar white labels with a serrated edge bearing a number. The older labels indicate that this object came from another collection or sale. The axe head would have been attached to the wooden handle with string and/or some form of glue. Note that there is no provenance given in the accession book for this object, but, in the UK, spherulitic felsite is only found in Shetland.
