An axe-hammer from Dumfries (NX 9776) is in Carlisle Museum (Acc No: AII 203.R4). A second axe-hammer, also from Dumfries, is in Dumfries Museum (No Acc No), along with another two axe-hammers, 'from Dumfries district' (Acc Nos: 23/PSA/33 and 32/PSA/13).

(DMF 17). This Class I axe-hammer is held in Carlisle Museum under accession number AII.230. It is provenanced as from 'Dumfries' and has been petrologically identified as greywacke.
(DMF 63) This Class I axe-hammer is held in Dumfries Museum under accession number DUMFM 1951/1 (and labelled 1950/62). It has been petrologically attributed to group XXVIIg (garnetiferous greywacke from the Southern uplands of Scotland).
