A small ovoid Bronze Age stone macehead, found about 1932 when ploughing on Starrieheugh farm (NX 951 752) was acquired by Dumfries in 1962 (Acc No: 3/SMH/7343). The precise field in which it was found is not known. (Information from A E Truckell, undated)
