Four axe-hammers from Crichton Royal Hospital (NX 9874) are in Dumfries Museum (Acc Nos: 3/PSA/30, 16/PSA/672, 24/PSA/33, and no acc no).

(DMF 79). The axe-hammer that is held in Dumfries Museum under accession number DUMFM 1950/61 has been petrologically attributed to group XXVII (greywacke from the Southern uplands of Scotland) or, possibly, group XV (micaceous sub-greywacke from the southern Lake District of Cumbria).
