Archaeology Notes

NX79SE 14 76 90. Artifacts from Glencairn (Parish name : NX 7690)(for which no closer provenance is given) include a smoothing stone (in the NMAS - Acc No: AY 5); two axe-hammers (in Dumfries Museum - Acc Nos : 15/PSA/578A and 27/PSA/577A); two stone whorls, and a greenstone ball (formerly in Thronhill Museum, but transferred to Dumfries in 1965).
