A socketed bronze axe from near Edinburgh is in RMS (NMAS), purchased in 1881 (Acc No: DE 7).
E D Dennison 1917; J M Coles 1962.
(Socketed axe of Gillespie type). Near Edinburgh, Midlothian. Single find. Socketed axe, sandy surface, brown green patina preserved in places, body crushed, partly trimmed. Length 75mm, mouth (?), cutting edge 59mm, weight 250 gms. NMAS DE 7.
