Archaeology Notes

NT23NE 24 2583 3982 A Migdale type flat bronze axe from Kings Meadows is in Peebles Museum (no acc. no.). It measures 162mm in length, butt 33mm, cutting edge 97mm. (Edinburgh Evening News 23 November 1967) J M Coles 1971; P K Schmidt and C B Burgess 1981 Mr D Todd, 33 Dalcatho Crescent, Peebles, the finder, states that it was found in November 1967 on top of the wall of a partly demolished steading at Kings Meadows (NT 2583 3982). The original findspot could not be ascertained. Visited by OS (RD) 19 July 1971.
