NS52NW 2 534 277.
A polished axe of clay ironstone was found in 1875 by James Gall, farmer, Mountgarswood (now East Montgarswood: NS 530 276) in the Burn of Need (name: NS 534 277) close to the farmhouse. It was donated by him to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1881 (Accession no: AF 71). It is 6 ins long by 3 ins across the cutting edge.
