Archaeology Notes
NS35SW 9 c. 347 506.
A slickstone or whetstone of reddish quartzite, 2 1/16 inches x 5/8 x 5/8 inches was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1856 (Accession no. AL 5) by R Cochran- Patrick, together with a conical piece of shale 2 1/8 inches long (Acc No. AL 45). They were found about 7 or 8 feet from the surface when cutting a drain in Bankhead Moss (name: NS 347 506).
