NO66SW 8 c. 602 601 See also NO65NW 1 Brechin, Cauldhame hoard and NO56SE 19 Brechin bronze sword. (Area NO 602 601) A Late Bronze Age sword, of native type, was found in digging at the railway station. Brechin (NO66SW 28.00) before 1888 and is now in Montrose Museum (Acc No 71). J Anderson and G F Black 1888; W Henderson 1938; J M Coles 1962. (Ewart Park type - Northern step 2). Single find. Sword, length 63.2cm, terminal width 4.3cm, shoulder width 4.95cm, maximum blade width 4.2cm; well cast, in good condition but edge battered; blade has original surface showing; rivets 2:2, none in situ. Montrose Museum (LH 1977.64, Lord Panmure collection). C B Burgess and I Colquhoun 1988.
