Archaeology Notes

NO65SW 33 64 53 An adze-shaped axe of claystone, 4 by 1 3/8ins; a polished flint axe, 2 1/2 by 1 1/2ins; and the butt end of an axe of white flint, all from Rossie Moor (name: NO 644 532) are in Montrose Museum. J Anderson and G F Black 1888. There are six stone axes from the Rossie Moor area in Montrose Museum (Acc Nos: 1977.25-6, 53, 57-9) Information contained in letter from G W Zealand, Angus District Museums to Ordnance Survey, 20 November 1978.
