Archaeology Notes

NO43NE 28 c.49 38. Artifacts from Monikie (name: NO 49 38) which are in Dundee Museum comprise: (a) a flint microlith, 2.9cm long (Acc No: 1969-189); (b) various flint blades and flakes (1969- 184.1-14); (c) a leaf-shaped flint arrowhead, 2.8cm long (1966-86); (d) a broken barbed-and-tanged flint arrowhead 2.8cm long (1966-132);(e) sandstone whorl, 3.5cm in diameter (1969-258-11). H Coutts Also from Monikie come (f) a perforated stone disc, about 4 ins in diameter and 7/8 in thick; and (g) a sharpening stone. These were in the collection of John Sturrock, Monikie, sold in October 1889. Sturrock 1889.
