Archaeology Notes

A metal detector survey of the area was carried out by A Reid of the Perth Museum, but no further finds were made. Information from Mr T Cowie (NMAS), 6 July 1989. NO12SW 214 1323 2288 Late Bronze Age bronze socketed gouge found in June 1989 on the W flanks of Kinnoull Hill. Dark green patina, broken in places. A section is missing from the socket and side across one of the mould lines. Length: 5.5cm, gouge width 1.3cm, collar diameter 1.6cm, gouge depth 2.8cm. It is now in Perth Museum and Art Gallery following Treasure Trove enquiry. (Acc no: 1990.137. MD King, Perth Museum, DES 1990, 42.
