Archaeology Notes
NN81NE 10 8643 1891.
A stone mould of greenstone 7 1/2ins by 4 1/8ins was found in opening a quarry at Bennybeg near Crieff. Purchased by the National Museum of Antiquities in 1904 (Acc. No: CM 24).
Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1905
No conclusive information on the find spot of the mould could be obtained, but Mr Marshall (Bennybeg, Crieff), whose family have been at Bennybeg for 70 years, believes that it was found in an old quarry, at NN 8643 1891.
Visited by OS (RD) 23 May 1967
