Original description

Fragment of thin sandstone slab [paving?], no locality but probably Newstead, Roxburghshire. . Fragment of thin sandstone slab [paving?], no locality but probably Newstead, Roxburghshire. Trevor Cowie notes, 8 September 2014: apparently previously unregistered; allocated registration numbers for tracking purposes during the Leith Cruiser Store decant September 2014 pending more detailed cataloguing by FJH. Circumstances and provenance uncertain - the piece was accompanied by a post-it sticker marked FRA 1103A in Tam Ward’s handwriting; this is probably spurious as that has been accounted for elsewhere [= small stone cup]; however fragment may therefore be assumed to have formerly been with Newstead collections. Site: Newstead, Roxburghshire, Scotland, EUROPE.
