Original description
Trevor Cowie notes, 25.6.2014: X.IB 339A comprises 10 detached flakes of schist from grave slabs, X.IB 339-340, with incised crosses, excavated in 1882-3 from a Viking boat burial at Kiloran Bay, Colonsay, Argyll. Located at time of Findlay Building decant 2009, previously un-marked and/or unregistered, and therefore allocated temporary 'Yellow Tag' (YT) number FB.YT.551. Note that without further checking, the flakes could derive from either X.IB 339 or X.IB 340; if specific fragments can be re-united with certainty with X.IB 340, a further accession number should be created.
