Original description

Part of a collection of fieldwalking finds made by Walter Elliot. ARCH DB 2000/103. ARCH TTNC 2000/11. N.B. X.2009.12.254 (X.FJ 199) is not from Newstead (glass bead from Rink, Selkirk), nor is X.2009.12.278.1 (X.BMA 4569) a collection of flint tools and flakes from Kalemouth, Roxburghshire (NT 714 276). X.FRA 5934 Short Description: fine ware. Description: Boss-decorated pottery in buff fabric; one sherd with boss, and one detached boss. From South Annexe, Trimontium. Both pieces found between 1st and 2nd Century roads in the same area as the Minerva terracotta head. The single boss was found in 1972 and the other sherd in 1987. Newstead, Walter Elliot Collection.
