Original description
Brass circular dished stud, Newstead. The dished hollow is silvered and decorated with an incised cross, perhaps originally inlaid. A square-sectioned shank 5 mm long extends from the rear. Stud diameter 12 mm. (See Analytical Report 95/19 for analysis of one of studs X.FRA 4238-4240). Previously numbered as part of general collection of miscellaneous copper alloy, X.FRA 1014.
