Original description

[One of] Collection of finds from Newstead. ORF: Brief description: Cruickshank collection of finds from Newstead, Roxburghshire. Description: Detailed catalogue to follow. Registered by: Trevor Cowie. Date: 1/12/00. Lisa Anderson note, 2006: Copper alloy ‘button’, possibly a piece of furniture decoration. Circular head: 23.5 mm diam. with concentric circle decoration (12.5 mm diam.). Tang projects 23.5 mm from rear face of ‘button’: rectangular in section with perforation – probably pinned or dowelled in place, rather than driven in. Cruickshank Collection, Newstead.
