MEDIEVAL POTTERY. Jug with globular body, pedestal base and long flared neck. It has a strap handle and a tubular pouring spout (all but the base of which is missing). It is decorated with a plant motif ... all in applied clay. The fabric is red earthenware with a white slip ... It was dredged up by the Scalpay fishing boat AGATE - DY 256 ... 4 1/2 miles SW of the Shiant Isles ...
