Original description

The finds from a Bronze Age cairn at Limefield, Lanarkshire (RCAHMS 1978, Inventory no 77) excavated in 1966 - 67 by A MacLaren. Jet. Flat, rectangular-sectioned shale ring, found in the surface layer of cairn material in the SE quadrant. Roughly oval in shape with a circular central perforation. Unpolished except perhaps by wear. Lightly scratched all over, again perhaps by wear. Diameter 26 mm to 29 mm; diameter of perforation 15 mm; thickness 4 mm. MacLaren, A; in, Between and Beyond the Walls, 1984, pp 97 - 116, fig 6.7.
