Original description

The finds from a Bronze Age cairn at Limefield, Lanarkshire (RCAHMS 1978, Inventory no 77) excavated in 1966 - 67 by A MacLaren. Pottery. Beaker from central pit, with cremation (I) and V-bored jet button (EQ 889). Shallow, S-profiled vessel with slightly angular shoulder c 105 mm below the rim, which is bevelled both internally and externally. As reconstructed: height 200 mm, rim diameter 145 mm, base diameter 80 mm, wall thickness 8 mm. Outer surface reddish-brown, core dark grey/black; interior grey-brown. Hard fairly heavily gritted fabric; external surface smoothed. Decoration mainly of incised strokes and lines arranged in horizontal zones. [...].
