Original description

MISCELLANEOUS ORNAMENTS, CHIEFLY BRONZE. Bronze fibula inlaid with silver, found near the Roman Wall at Firth of Forth end. SD note, July 1999: Edited from SCRAN full data set. Fraser Hunter note, 13 September 2001: Illustrated in R. Sibbald 1707 'Historical Inquiries ...', unnumbered plate showing Antonine Wall, description reads 'Fibula Argenea found near the River Forth and not far from the Wall; Illustrated in A. Gordon 1726 Itinerarium Septentrionale, pl IV no 9, the description (p117) adds nothing new.
