Original description

PERSONAL ORNAMENTS, &C. Circular Disc of silver, much battered. Norrie's Law, near Largo, Fifeshire. Alice Blackwell note 20.04.2015: Complete silver circular object with central repoussé boss (now dented) and raised curved rim. It has clearly folded twice to make a narrow rectangular parcel, and subsequently unfolded. No visible method of attachment survives and there is no visible remains of solder. Scratches run around the outside of the boss and around the rim on the upper side. The silver is thicker and a more malleable alloy than the other (fragmentary) circular object from the hoard, x.FC 26. Analogy with an unusual bowl made from multiple pieces of sheet bronze from Ewelme (Oxfordshire) suggests a possible function as basal mount (Bruce Mitford 2005, no. 73, 232–34, figs 284, 285).
