Original description

PERSONAL ORNAMENTS, &c. Jointed Armlet of late Celtic type, found near Plunton Castle, Kirkcudbrightshire. [MoS description] Early People. Beyond the world. (1) Bronze bracelet, Plunton Castle. 0 - 200 AD. [Scran caption] This hinged bronze bracelet was found near Plunton Castle in Kirkcudbrightshire. It was a high status piece of jewellery, worn between 50 and 100 AD. The body of the bracelet is made of two sections of ribbed metal, hinged together. Two bronze rectangular plates, decorated with hammered out ornament and secured by rivets, have been placed flanking each hinge. Only one hinge pin survives. Date: Between 50 and 100 AD. Material: Bronze Dimensions: Diameter: 65 by 50 mm.
