Original description

Beads & Rings of Jet, Stone, &c. Ring of bituminous shale, 4" dia., from Knockando. SB note, 'Elginshire' deleted. FJH note, April 1996: Checking original sources shows that the discovery date given, 1863, is wrong: this should be 1853. FJH note, February 2000: PSAS 1 (1851-4), 190 records the armlet was 'dug up near an old Cairn, in the parish of Knockando'.
