Original description
A flat ring silver brooch, 2.2" diam., (Callander type I(a)); the inscription on the face begins 'IHESVISNA' then degenerates. On reverse 'IVZIVI['V' inverted] etc'. Found on CROOKSTON N.MAINS. It has an inscription on the front and back between single marginal lines, but it is virtually illiterate and copied without comprehension from another source. The pin is oval in section with a projecting oval collar which is decorated with oblique lines//NOTES:1 PSAS, vol LXXXV, 1951, 185.//JM
