Original description

Silver brooch, 2 1/4" dia. with 6 lozenge-shaped ornaments. Langhope, Roxburghshire.//T. Deniozou note, 2011-02-18, Information taken from Glenn, Virginia, Romanesque & Gothic: Decorative Metalwork and Ivory Carvings in the Museum of Scotland, NMSE Publishing, Edinburgh, 2003: [One of] B1, C42, 41-2 [Angels, Nobles and Unicorns reference] //The wire brooch is complete with pin and six lozenge-shaped plates attached to the front of the ring. The lozenges are decorated with four long and four intermediate short lines radiating from the centre and bear traces of gilding. The pin, which is oval in section, has a projecting oval collar.
