Original description

Part of bowl of a chalice, lead, 4" dia. 1" deep; St Magnus Cathedral. Caption note, February 1993: Probably 13th century. Caption note, March 1993: Found in a grave in the choir of St Magnus Cathedral in February 1925. The position of the grave near the original high altar and the grave goods indicate the burial-place of a bishop, probably of the 13th century.
