Original description
Tools, Implements & Miscellaneous. Baler of wood, rudely cut from the solid, oval, 8 7/8" x 5 7/16" x 3 1/8", the handle 3 1/2" long, found in a peat moss on Grimsay, Outer Hebrides. [Scran caption] This wooden boat bailer was found in the peat at Grimsay on North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. This example dates from sometime between 1400 to 1000 BC.
