On his lap, there is a paper/ letter? held at the corner by his left hand. The sitter is wearing red tie with a tie pin? , grey shirt and green? waist coat . He is wearing a dark coloured jacket. Painted on a plain background- There is a suggestion that he might be sitting in front of a window with green curtains on the right hand side.
