Description and Sources
The Skye and Lochalsh Archive Centre holds small collection of lithic stone tools and debitage. According to a letter in the archives, they were found in 1984 in a trench or burn immediately behind Coral beach. They were examind by Talla Hopper who recorded 12 lithics:
1 definite flint core and 2 possible cores.
3 dark chert/mudstone flakes, one probably a blade flake and two possibly. All three have been damaged since the original working.
1 small flint. Possible debitage.
1 small chert? Possible debitage
4 tiny flint pieces. No definite signs of working
None were diagnostically Mesolithic in character.
