NJ71NE 49 c. 78 18. In Inverurie Museum are the following stone axes from Fullarton Farm, Kintore (NJ 78 18): 5 1/2" (140mm) long (Acc. No: AF 46). 5 3/8" (136mm) long (AF 47). 5" (127mm) long (AF 48). 5 1/8" (130mm) long (AF 49). 3" (76mm) long (AF 50). 2 1/4" (57mm) long (AF 51). 2" (51mm) long (AF 52). Presented by Mr E M Smith, Linden Lea, St James Place, Inverurie. Information from Accession Register, Inverurie Museum. Inverurie Museum AF 46 (ABN 88) has been petrologically attributed to group XXXII (epidiorite or altered diotite, possibly from the Dalradian of Northern Scotland). AF 47 and 49 (ABN 89 and 90 respectively) have been petrologically attributed to group XXXIII (biotite-silliminite-quartz-schist, possibly from a source in Aberdeenshire). AF 50 (ABN 91) has been petrologically identified as quartz basalt. T H McK Clough and W A Cummins 1988. (Name cited as Fullarton Farm). NMRS, MS/712/67. The accession number of one of the polished stone axes from Fullerton in Inverurie Museum is PEHMS: I 1048. The collection of Inverurie Museum has been re-catalogued, but the new catalogue is incomplete and there is no easy system of identifying the new accession numbers of the other axes from Fullerton. Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 5 June 2001.
