This evaluation was commissioned by Fife Council Planning Service in advance of Forest Enterprise felling proposals, the work was executed to a brief prepared by Peter Yeoman and Sarah Govan of Fife Council Archaeological Service. In total 19 sherds of medieval pottery were found at the grid reference given above. The report mentions that the area of Tentsmuir had a considerable population at least in the post-medieval period. This population was removed in a short period at the start of the 19th century as the large estates reformed their agricultural land. NO 472 257 As part of the same evaluation a further 6 medieval pottery sherds were found in a surface scatter. The place of discovery is given as Fetterdale.
