Original description

BEADS, RINGS, &C. OF GLASS. [One of two] Beads of yellow and of blue paste, enclosing bands of red, white and green, from Mouswald, Dumfriesshire. FJH note, April 1996: Post-medieval trade bead. MoS List, Movement, II.3.2, April 1997: Early Historic polygonal glass bead, Mouswald. Alice Blackwell 26.05.2015, note: previously mis-identified as Anglo-Saxon, this bead is a post-medieval type known as a chevron bead. Manufactured from the 16th century onwards, chevron beads have been produced in their millions in several hundred varieties.
