ORNAMENTS OF GOLD, &C. Small Capsule of penannular form, found at Gogar, Mid-Lothian, with sword (DL 6) and brooch (FC 153). [MoS description] Symbols of power. Adorning the body. Jewellery for the head and neck. (4) Hair ornament, Gogar Burn. 950 - 750 BC. [Scran caption] This gold hair ornament was found at Gogar Burn in Midlothian together with a sword and scabbard fitting. It was an expensive of item of dress, worn to impress, dating from between 950 and 750 BC. The hair ornament is cracked in places and damaged on one end. Date: Between 950 and 750 BC. Material: Gold.
